Markham, ONT. (February 21, 2023) – Today, Genesis announced Canadian pricing and packaging for the first-ever 2023 Electrified GV70 Prestige AWD. The Electrified GV70 is the third electric vehicle from Genesis, following the launch of the GV60 luxury SUV and Electrified G80 sedan last year.
Genesis has committed that starting in 2025 all new models launched will be all-electric, and that its entire vehicle lineup will be electric by 2030. The brand made waves when it first hit the Canadian market in 2016 by offering set, all-inclusive pricing, a Genesis at Home concierge program for sales and service, complimentary scheduled maintenance, and a comprehensive five-year warranty on all vehicles.
Built upon the award-winning GV70 platform, the Electrified GV70 features a spacious, well-appointed interior and refined performance with a host of technologies designed exclusively for electric vehicles.
“The Electrified GV70 represents a significant milestone as we continue on our journey toward full electrification by 2030,” says Eric Marshall, director of Genesis Motors Canada. “We are pleased to be expanding our electric vehicle portfolio, particularly in a space where we see a significant opportunity for sustainable growth here in Canada.”
Powered by 160 kW electric motors in both the front and rear, total output is 320 kW (429 hp) and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Engaging the Boost mode allows for a 10-second burst of 483 hp. The 77.4kWh battery found in Electrified GV70 is capable of rapid charging from 10-80 percent in just 18 minutes when utilizing 350kW (800V) DC fast charging.
The luxurious interior is equipped with Nappa leather seating surfaces, microfiber suede headliner, head-up display, 3D instrument cluster, premium audio, active noise control – road, heated second row seats and steering wheel, manual rear side window shades, and an exclusive Mood lighting treatment.
The Electrified GV70 features white brake calipers, and Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires. It is available in eight exterior colours, with the choice of two premium interior treatments: Obsidian Black Monotone or Glacier White Two Tone.
The Electrified GV70 comes equipped with a robust suite of safety and driver assistance features, including Highway Driving Assist II. This convenience system includes lane change assist capabilities and assists drivers in maintaining the centre of the lane at an appropriate speed, while keeping a safe distance to the vehicle in front. Additional safety features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Changing Assist, High Beam Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (Rear), Remote Smart Parking Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, a Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Advanced Rear Occupant Alert.
A complimentary subscription to Genesis Connected Services allows owners to stay connected with a suite of digital applications and remote services that provide convenience and confidence. Owners can remotely monitor vehicle location, battery status, and range, locate charging stations and adjust climate settings, as well as start, stop, and schedule a charge.
