25 August 2022 - Genesis Motors Australia is pleased to announce the first-ever Electrified G80 luxury sedan.

Electrified G80 AWD will provide a refined, zero-emission range halo model, sitting above G80 3.5T AWD Luxury Pack, while setting a new standard for luxurious electric sedans.

Electrified G80 features a twin motor AWD system that provides 272kW (from dual 136kW front / rear motors) and an instantaneous 700Nm of torque, to propel the luxury four-door from rest to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds in near-silent refinement.

An 87.2kWh battery offers up to 520km (WLTP) of long-distance touring range and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 22 minutes when plugged into a 350kW DC fast charger.

Electrified G80 wraps this advanced technology in a striking large sedan that embodies the audacious, progressive and distinctly Korean Genesis brand DNA to deliver athletic elegance.

Electrified G80 will provide unprecedented luxury in a single, highly equipped grade that is set to launch locally in September along with the dedicated electric GV60 and Electrified GV70.

POWERTRAIN & TECHNOLOGY

Electrified G80 is offered with a single battery-electric, all-wheel drive powertrain delivering totals of 272kW and 700Nm from front and rear 136kW, 350Nm motors.

The result is breathtakingly dynamic performance across the range of driving conditions with the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h just 4.9 seconds.

A Disconnector Actuator System (DAS) can separate or connect the motor and drive shaft according to driving conditions, including vehicle speed and driving mode. The system lets G80 seamlessly switch between RWD and AWD to maximise efficiency.

Maximum range from the 87.2kWh power battery is 520km based on the WLTP testing protocol.

Electrified G80 features a 400V/800V multi rapid-charging system that lets customers plug into a range of charging infrastructures. The driving motor and inverter can boost the voltage from 400V to 800V - the optimal level for the system - for stable charging performance.

Plugged into a 350kW rapid charger, Electrified G80 can charge its battery from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 22 minutes.

A V2L (Vehicle-To-Load) feature lets customers plug their electric appliances into Electrified G80 and access a household-grade source of electric power (3.6kW output) while enjoying the great outdoors.

Refined touring is ensured with features such as Active Noise Control-Road (ANC-R), which cancels road noise by creating sounds at opposite phase.

In addition, Preview Electronic Control Suspension (Preview ECS) uses the front camera to make suspension damping adjustments that account for bumps and potholes ahead, to deliver an uncommonly smooth ride.

EXTERIOR

Electrified G80 applies the Genesis Athletic Elegance design philosophy along with an array of EV-specific styling elements to create a striking large luxury sedan.

The Genesis-signature Crest Grille evolves into an aerodynamic crest featuring an inverted G-Matrix pattern designed to emphasise Electrified G80's sustainability mission.

Electrified G80’s charging flap is hidden in the top right corner of the grille and, when opened, reveals a twin chrome line design that maintains a consistent design identity.

A solar roof integrated in the roofline enhances Electrified G80’s energy efficiency by generating supplementary electricity from sunlight.

A choice of 11 exterior colours are available, 10 of which are shared with G80 2.5T and 3.5T plus an exclusive hue, Matira Blue, let every customer tailor Electrified G80 to their taste.

Capturing the spirit of Matira Beach in the South Pacific Ocean, Matira Blue utilises a special pigment that creates a colour that varies with the viewing angle, just like its namesake, from cobalt to emerald-blue and turquoise.

There are nine gloss colours for Electrified G80 along with the optional Verbier White and Makalu Gray Matte.

INTERIOR

Electrified G80’s interior design is inspired by a Korean architectural philosophy that emphasises the ‘Beauty of White Space’, to create a serene and luxurious experience for occupants.

Electrified G80 is available with Obsidian Black, Havana Brown, Forest Blue and Electrified-exclusive Glacier White interior colours, each featuring a bespoke quilting pattern for the Nappa leather-appointed seats.

In line with Genesis Motor’s commitment to sustainable mobility, Electrified G80 uses low environmental impact natural and recycled materials throughout the cabin.

These include leather that utilises natural dye for the seats, console and rear seat armrests, an eco-friendly 'forged wood' garnish made from recycled birch wood from the furniture manufacturing process, and environmentally friendly fabric made from recycled PET.
